I'm
Professor of Human Psychopharmacology based in Melbourne, Australia with affiliations at Monash and
Swinburne Universities.
My research aims to
understand the mood
and cognitive effects of 'nutra' interventions (nutrition, nutrients, nutraceuticals),
drugs and alcohol. Specifically I'm
interested in the human brain and behavioural processes underlying
these effects. This research aims to understand acute cognitive
enhancement, longer term neurocognitive decline and mental health
conditions. This has led to the development of interventions which
optimise mental function both acutely and over a longer timescale.
I am Chief Scientific Officer for Ārepa Nootropics
who produce evidence-based, brain enhancing products.
I also work as a consultant/expert advisor to industry (ranging from
start-ups to numerous Fortune 500 companies). In these roles my aim is
to translate science into benefits for brain and
mental health.
